Welcome From The Innkeeper

Thank you for your interest in The Swag. Press trips are available from May to August with options noted below for freelancers and staff journalists covering romantic travel, luxury travel, adventure, food or historic categories. For media visits we offer two options:

1. With a confirmed assignment in a reputable publication, the inn offers courtesy accommodations during open season for freelancers and staff journalists on week days only beginning May 1 through August 31. The Swag is open to the public from late April to mid-November.
2. Writers without assignments but with editorial contacts in the categories noted above can inquire 30 days out for weekday availability from May to end of August.

With either option, a travel companion who can share the same bed with the invited travel writer can come without charge. Gift gallery purchases are considered personal expenditures. Transportation to and from the inn is not included.

As is our normal policy, all media and travel writer guests pay a 15% service charge (to cover all gratuities) based on the respective room rates.

If you are unable to accept a courtesy stay, a press rate can be negotiated. Negotiated press rates will also include North Carolina state sales tax.
